Dee Nickerson
Dee Nickerson is an artist who lives on the Norfolk, Suffolk border, the landscape of my teens and one that continues to have a strong pull on my soul. This painting (Above) is called 'Freedom', Dee went to Great Yarmouth College of art and design and then has worked in various jobs in textiles and ceramics until she became an established painter, her work delights in capturing simple pleasures and wonders of life in the countryside.

Barry Drake
You always remember a good teacher.
I always wanted to study art, at my secondary school age 13 I remember begging Mr Ray to be allowed to take the O Level. Then I moved school and entered the domain of the amazing coffee and tobacco soaked Mr Mike Chambers, who's art room was resplendent with record player and David Bowie vinyl's.
I attended Great Yarmouth College of Art for evening classes and at 18 entered under the influence of Mr Barry Drake who was the Head of Art in this my first and favourite art school out of the three I attended.
Barry Drake died two weeks ago, my mum just phoned to let me know and I wanted to honour him and the art college that gave me such a great art education. He was a lovely gentle man and ran a wonderful art college that will always hold a special place in my heart.
