This book by Francios Place is absolutely wonderful, but also heart breaking, read it to yourself first, if you are planning on reading it to a child. William Rodarmor's illustrations are magical, the story is ... well buy it and see.
It starts with a man buying a giants tooth from a beggar on a quay, the tooth so fascinates him that he sets off on an adventure to discover where this magical tooth has come from.
