The artist who produced these glorious bright circus paintings is Fikret Mualla (1903 -1967).
Fikret Mualla was born in Istanbul and lived in France from his early 30's his was not a happy life, that age old tale of unrequited love, alcohol dependency and mental illness but his legacy is a body of work full of humour love and colour.
