Chiyoko Nakatani VI


I wanted to share a new purchase with you 'The Hippo Boat' published in1967 written by Eriko Kishida and illustrated by Chiyoko Nakatani. I just love the idea and image of the giraffe riding on the hippo's back it is beautiful, as well as the gentle story of a hippo saving all the zoo animals from the flood.

Chiyoko Nakatani I




Illustrations by Japanese illustrator/ author Chiyoko Nakatani ( 1930-1981) for Aesop's fable of 'The Lion and the Mouse' published in 1971. Chiyoko Nakatani graduated in painting (oil) from Tokyo University and in her short life created over 105 books for children.
