'Drummer Hoff' written by Barbara Emberley, and illustrated by Ed Emberley. Is a 1968 Caldecott Medal winning children's book. It tells a cumulative tale of seven soldiers who build a cannon named "Sultan", and Drummer Hoff, who fires it off, exploding the book into a colourful blast. The last picture shows the birds and flowers taking it over.
