Jan Pyk I

'Nessie the Monster', by Ted Hughes, published in America by The Bobbs-Merrill Company, 1974. This was an odd find, as I have Nessie the Mannerless Monster by Ted Hughes illustrated by Gerald Rose, but I was unaware of this other version illustrated by the Swiss illustrator Jan Pyk. Jan Pyk was born in Stockholm, Sweden where he studied graphics. He then worked in advertising for ten years in Stockholm, London, and New York where he settled with his wife  in 1967, and devoted himself to illustrating children's books for Swedish and American publishers.
