Inchkeith

A few weeks ago I participated in a seal cub count on the isle of Inchkeith. Inchkeith is a small island in the Forth that is often present in my photographs from the shore of Fife. It has an incredible history but also is an important place for seal breeding and seabird nesting. Having admired it from afar I wanted to explore it, I was lucky it was a beautiful late November day. The result is this little book and poem.

Inchkeith

Slide out on the song tide
Inching to the isle of Inchkeith.
Into the welcoming harbor arms
Where soft fur mermaids
Lie on a pebble shore
Awaiting pebble freckled mothers
