Printing with tissue paper

I am trying to prepare for an artist's book event at the end of February, and I am busy creating a range of books. It is great fun trying new book making techniques and styles. This one has a character who says unpleasant things and is duplicitous, speaking with many tongues.

Whilst working I have rediscovered printing with tissue paper. This is the unfixed, cheap tissue paper that loses its colour when wet. creating an uneven print with all the appeal of happy mistakes. I cut out stencils place them on the drawing paper paint them with water and leave them to allow the ink to be released before peeling the tissue paper away.

    1. Hello Graça, Thank you for your comment and kind words. There is no named tissue, unfortunately it is just trial and error as to which works.

  3. Hazel, how long do you let the tissue paper sit before peeling it up? I just adore this idea! :) e

    1. The tissue paper I bought from home bargains a pack is 79p. the longer you leave the tissue on the deeper the colour but at most probably 30 seconds at most. Some of the colours are not predictable the pink comes out quite lilac.
