Mohammad Barrangi is a keen athlete and illustrator whose work captivated me with its otherness. Hand coloured prints and original drawings over Persian text, his are wonderfully Iranian.
Do pictures have a language? this is a question that is perplexing me at the moment and I think they do have a cultural identity as strong as a dialect and in this global economy and global information highway it is good to see the unique qualities of different cultures and countries played out in individual expression and imagination.
