Adrift
I save things that I want to paint or make; creative dreams and wishes. This image really struck me, it was a video of a dog adrift on an iceberg, that thankfully was rescued.
Not the happiest of pictures but it has made me happy to, at last, do a tiny painting of this wonderful patient, trusting dog, my first picture of the year.
I have painted it with watercolour, I have many palettes of watercolour some high quality and some very, very low quality, but they all have their place and their own characteristics. These are cheap but not nasty I like the grainy quality it reminds me of the reticulations in the washes that you get when working on lithography stones.
