Stefanie Augustine is a New York based illustrator who inspired by black and white cinematography and newspapers works primarily in monochrome and often uses collage. These are some of her illustrations from the book 'The Elegant Cockroach' by Deidre Anne Martin published by Uppercase Magazine.
This book is one of the few picture books designed specifically with adults in mind and is about a sophisticated cockroach who is looking for love.
It's pretty dark but I like her style. It's quite a comment on urban living though :-s
