This recent work is made from scraps of fabric, from worn out clothes and tea towels, stained by red soil, mango and ketchup, faded by the sun and Omo, as well as from my collection of purchased fabrics, meant to be made into place-mats and pillow covers. Not a single project was completed. I think I failed as a housewife.
This is my redemption."

What a beautiful and wonderful work!
ReplyDeleteThanks for sharing her creations.
I would like to congratulate you on failing as a housewife Kerrtu. I urge other women to do the same. It would be a radical and signifant step towards equality and saving our environment! I like your art work as well. salutations, Sandi
ReplyDeleteWho says that you have failed as a housewife??? Maybe you’re just not meant to be only that. Maybe you’re meant to be a creator of unique art things that are very insightful and have special meaning. They remind me a bit of Paul Klee and who said that he was not meeting expectations?
ReplyDeleteBeautiful work. I wish the word “housewife” would fade out of existence.
ReplyDeleteI agree a title that is demeaning and ridiculous.
