Gemeo Luis


The theatre contained in these wisps of stories, paper cuts by artist illustrator Gemeo Luis, is compelling and magical. Again it is the shadows created by these pieces that I love, they expand the tiny, detailed, painstaking, paper cuts into high drama. Gemeo Luis also uses this style of paper cut to illustrate his books, the silhouette can be a very powerful pictorial tool in storytelling.

    Lovely! Went to see Miles' end of year show at school tonight, a shadow puppet fairytale set in our village that the kids had invented 'The Unicorn from Aubais'. It was brill!
