Lynne Allen

Lynn Allen makes beautiful and fascinating works, drawing on her cultural heritage.

"All the matriarchs in my family have been members of the Standing Rock Indian Reservation in South Dakota . . . I can trace my Native heritage back six generations to Ita ta Win (Wind Woman), born in the 1830's. I have the writings of my great grandmother, photographs and beadwork."

"There is danger, there are lies, and there are forgotten truths." Lynne's work has the craftsmanship of an artist beautifully combined with compelling social history, biography and storytelling.

  2. these are fascinating. also love the fact she draws from her cultural heritage, something which many unfortunately are afraid to do these days.
