Ferel . . . Hazel Terry

I am enjoying the opportunity to go 'ferel' at any point and be in the wild in fact I have an earnest longing to be immersed in nature just now, so when ever I get a chance I am away in the hills.

For years (ever?) my joy and solace has been in the wild long walks, finding, watching and seeing. This was curtailed by caring roles in recent years, and though to a lesser extent these continue, I have to, for my own survival, get out and be in trees, hills and shores.  For weeks now I have been gathering materials, many and varied for a project my daughter is planning and I have to say what ever she doesn't use I will.

Also for years I have planned a tree project, and as a step towards it above is my first mask, a sewn birch 'skin' mask from trees blown over in a recent storm. I am very much hoping that my friend Laurence will work with me again. as photographer, the image below was just taken on my phone but it gives a hint a first step.
