Hazel Terry, Oyster beds of the Forth

I like storytelling to be intrinsic to my work. This week I was volunteered to publish on a local artist's Instagram, so despite a heavy workload tried to produce some new pieces. Earlier in the year, I researched the Forth oyster.
This image, is called; 'Raking oysters', men would go out from Prestonpans and Cockenzie in small boats dredging oyster beds with heavy rakes as early as 1700. This led to the extinction of the Forth oyster beds once the largest in the world. It was made using watercolour pencil and collage.
