The Original Alice
In the summer of 1862, a mathematician named Charles Dodgson (1832-1898) entertained the three daughters of Henry Liddell; Lorina, Alice and Edith while they were rowing on the Isis.
Alice liddell at the time was 10 years old and loved the story so much that Charles went away and started to write it up. In November 1864 Charles delivered the manuscript to the little girl with 37 illustrations, under the alias of Lewis Carroll.
Today the manuscript is one of the treasures of the British Library of London.
