This week I was lucky to attend the opening of the new Roy Lichtenstein (1923-1997) exhibition at the Scottish Gallery of Modern Art in Edinburgh, a great treat as I had never been to an opening at this gallery. It came about because our students have been involved, through Fife Contemporary Art and Craft in a 'Young Curators Project' with the Artists Rooms, and I was allowed to keep them company.
Not only did we get to see the amazing Lichtenstein works but we also got to meet with the lovely and very interesting Anthony d’Offay who founded the artist rooms in 2008.
Hopefully Anthony d'Offay will be coming to visit the Daine Arbus artists rooms exhibition in Kirkcaldy to share some more of his knowledge and insights into this artist's life with the students later this spring.
