Hilma of Klint I

Also at the Picasso Museum in Malaga there is  a temporary exhibition of the work of Hilma of Klint(1862-1944).
I had seen individual pieces of this artists work before and it was great to see her work in a large collection.
Hima is now being heralded as the mother of abstraction as her compositions predate abstract works by Kandinsky, Mondrian and Malevich.
Hilma's art generally explores those hidden forces that we cannot see and struggle to understand.
The works are full of balance, beauty and a desire to understand, and yet they stand alone as phenomenally beautiful works with soul lifting colour and interplay of forms and pattern.

    1. Thank you for introducing me to this artist. I now have a new favorite and it boggles my mind that I've never heard of her until now. Amazing work!
