Gert and Uwe Tobias

Gert and Uwe Tobias (German, born Romania, 1973) are a twin brother artist collaboration based in Germany, whose work centres on large-scale woodcuts, but also includes typewriter drawings and watercolours, handmade ceramic sculptures, and wooden constructions.  Gert and Uwe Tobias draw on such diverse sources as popular culture, traditional Eastern European folk art, and art historical movements like Constructivism. It is as if they have a paint pot of twentieth century art so rich is the referencing of past movements in their work.
