Artem Krepkij II
Love the expressive gesturing hands in this sketch by Artem Krepkij and the use of perspective he has caught a moment in a discussion perfectly.

Dominique Fortin IV
Dominique Fortin takes us on a walk through the forest, in paintings that are unsettling in a number of ways, for Dominique's works are full of opposites.
Dominique contrasts colour in a haunting way combining monochrome pallor with intense jewel like areas of very strident pattern and colour.
Dominique also uses very polar techniques in her application of paint, for she uses very crude loose brush work over much of the canvas, making us concentrate on the sharp focus photorealism of the human subject ( Dominique's daughter).
Finally her subjects are unsettling as you are unsure to read them as of this world, or the world of imagination, dream or despair?

Elis Wilk II
"I really appreciate the art of children as well, because they produce very strong and instinctive visuals.” Says Elis, “When I create an illustration, I try to mix the intellectual-conceptual approach I learned through education with a more unconscious, spontaneous way of working to evoke that strong, instinctual response.” Elis Wilk

Elis Wilk I
For the past 10 days, I have been hand rearing a chick (see bottom picture) however yesterday I had to hand it over to the RSPCA for the rest of its care.
I miss it terribly. It is one of life's rare treats to be able save a creatures life and then release it into the wild. Unfortunately this time I could not complete this, mainly because I was scared the cat would get it, but also because of other commitments.
However it certainly bought us a lot of joy and I hope I set it well on the way to having a good healthy life.

Oscar Sabini I
Italian illustrator Oscar Sabini is working on illustrations using tiny almost random pieces of magazine to create lively little collages that are beautifully naive and visually exciting. Oscar has obviously been gleaning inspiration from his wonderful workshops with children.

Studying III
I wanted to create something to celebrate Autumn and also to highlight the need to plant trees, for so many reasons, but to keep the colours of Autumn vibrant with variety of species.

Studying II
My second attempt at transforming a sheet of A3 paper, resulted in a hedgehog. This piece was again made using no glue but slotting the elements together.

Studying I
I have started my studies this week towards an MA.
Induction week has been a paper challenge, where we were to take one piece of A3 and transform it using a variety of techniques. My first attempt was a grumpy looking man. Once cut out I used the scraps from around him, I made into his beard, moustache and eyebrows.
As he still looked a little naked I added some tattoos to complete his look.
