Morteza Zahedi V

These delicate surreal ladies by Morteza Zahedi remind me of lacewings and the tiny, fleeting miracles of life that accompany summer.
Perfect to celebrate the coming of summer and to wish a very Happy Birthday to their creator.

Mothers Day

Today is Mothers Day and the clocks have leapt forward into summer time, whilst the weather is still saying it is winter.
I started making this cat last year inspired by  Morito Toyonaga's fun kinetic paper mache toys.
The plan was to make them with one of my classes, but in the end it was forgotten in the corner of a cupboard until last week when it emerged and I finished it to sent to my mum. It has a drinking straw through the middle and through this passes the string which links the two mice so one gets caught while the other runs away.
