Collaged illustration of an aviary by Taiwanese illustrator Chia-Chi Yu who hasn't been featured on this blog for some time, so it is lovely to catch up with her work again. Chia-Chi Yu graduated from the National art school in France and now lives with 11 cats and a dog in Taipei.

Wang Shu-Man

Wang Shu-Man was one of five Taiwanese illustrators selected for the illustrators exhibition at the Bologna Children's Book Fair this year.
Wang Shu-Man's illustrations are from her book 'Star Chasing Birds'. They have a delicious palette and are wonderfully detailed works, you can really see the narrative of the story from these pieces.

Lo Chiao-Ling II

More child's play from Lo Chiao-Ling.

Lo Chiao-Ling I

Lo Chiao-Ling is an artist from Taiwan who works in video and photography as well as painting.
"There is a child hiding in your body, he may be the real you, you may have forgotten."
Lo Chiao- Ling's paintings are all portraits of children; children swimming, in the snow, playing, blowing bubbles etc.
"I tried to draw a mark in my mind of those who have made me feel like a child's innocence . . . I painted the inside of these children, some of them hidden in adult identity . . . I start painting, then you can remember her/him, or let others see"
