Bill Sokol I

I was bought a wonderful vintage children's book yesterday, by my oldest friend Raina. 

Fun and Games written by Barbara Kruger Bate and illustrated by Bill Sokol. 

This book features Leon the Lion, and lovely activities. The beautiful illustrations almost look like they have been coloured by children and are simple and perfect. 

Aline Ahond

 

Aline Ahond bridges that gap between real and imagined with the same surreal style as her fellow countryman Michel Gondry. Aline is an illustrator, author and film maker who layers fantasy over reality with onion skins of images, with transparencies that are like x-rays of your dreams.

Arina Makhova

Arina Makhova is a young Russian, illustrator and graphic designer, these are some pages from her book, she has also collaged some lovely figures.

Zdeněk Miler III

I had to post some more Zdeněk Miler pictures, I do think they would be great inspiration for surface/textile designers. The patterns in the foliage and flora are beautiful.

Olya Leontieva
