Finished

I cannot recommend this enough, we had wonderful fun, fantastic.

Let the celebrations begin . . . and then re-decorate!

Spring has sprung and I have to paint the kitchen again, so on the eve of Freya's Birthday party I decided that we could be a wee bit anarchic and paint the walls, in 'Nurturing Walls' style. Straight out of bed we have made a good start I will show you the end product soon. x

Tamar Stone

Bed Books by Tamar Stone documenting the stories of women who travelled across America on the Overland Trail during the 1800's.

"They came from a variety of backgrounds, and each had their own reasons to be leaving home to start a new life . . . The fact that they had the wherewithall at some point in the day, to write down their feelings and observations in letters and diaries, is an amazing feat, considering what could only be considered the day to day drudgery of trying to survive . . ."

The beds offer intimate pages on which to record these documents signifying in themselves; birth, death and love.

Joetta Maue

I am very drawn to textile art now, and this work by Joetta Maue on up cycled household linens
caught my eye. Especially an installation that Joetta did with embroidery rings included, like the bottom image, the tautness and the circle makes it look like you are looking into a magnifying glass.

A New Bellissimo from Oswald Flump

THANK YOU So lovely to get home to a new Bellissimo! thank you so much. x

You know I love chickens and at last our two old ladies after their winter sojourn have started to lay again, Spring Yippee!

"These chicken footstools are hand crafted in Lyons, Kansas. Their structure is formed from fallen wood logs and finished with bronze cast feet and beaks. They are upholstered with several layers of hand-felted wool and alpaca fibers, so each is unique in posture and personality." they are designed by Emily, Susan and Sally of 'the city girl farm' ( Thanks)

ARoS (Boy by Ron Mueck)

As part of my trip to Denmark I got the opportunity to see Boy by Ron Mueck at the wonderful gallery ARoS in Aarhus. I loved watching my friends from the Leonardo project interacting with this vast sculpture. You can see some lovely images of the sculpture being constructed here.

Aarhus

I just wanted to share some of my favourite images from last weeks fashion show in Aarhus, Denmark. These are all taken behind the scenes, it was exciting and great fun watching what all the students from Aarhus, Malta and Scotland had created and the fun that the models had wearing these creations.
