Hurray! I have been invited to the opening of 'Tribal Trousseau' at The Nomads Tent in Edinburgh next week. I can't wait I hope it is all as wonderful as the elephant pictured above.

Yesterday was the first of two master classes with artist Tim Johnson. My NC Fashion students learnt how to make string, ropes, braids and how to weave, a busy, fun day. Today some of the fashion students are gatecrashing the furniture students workshop so it promises to be even more hectic . . . can't wait.

Lyn Jackson is an artist trained as a goldsmith and costume designer who knits with wire. Giving you an x ray image of knitting, a three dimensional structure where you can see the volume and internal shapes that are usually invisible.

Aldwin van de Ven's lovely chalkboard bird studies (bottom) and Regen (above). The top picture is pertinent to me as I have to away to a rainy Glasgow at 6.45 in the morning.

Andrea Cavagnaro is a textile artist from Beunos Aires, Argentina, who creates these intricate cut and layered felt sculptures, resembling the paper cuts of Jen Stark. And so a new week starts, fueled by a desire for colour, fuzzy felts and toxic sweets. I hope it is a good one for you all. (thanks)
Bold and bright, Noah Woods uses intense colour and basic shapes, on collaged backgrounds to form his illustrations. Noah's work has a beguiling simplicity and richness that reminds you of childhood fuzzy felts and toxic coloured sweets. He has published an award winning children's book, Tom Cat.

Lovely to see some new work by Hannah Haworth, now living and working in New York, and knitting my favourite a beluga whale, I couldn't resist posting it. Do you remember her degree show?
A little bit of a heart for Valentines Day. I spent a mad weekend trying to construct a dress from toast to inspire my students working on a portfolio of 'food inspired fashion'. It is now hanging on the line to feed the birds.
I hope you are all having a very happy Valentines Day.
