Paper works by Lisa Qualls combining text photo transfer, paper piercing drawing and print creating rich and powerful images.

In this installation 'Spirit Level' , Lisa Qualls incorporates items of clothing with transferred family photographs. Clothing is a powerful metaphor of humanity combined with the photographs this is both beautiful and disturbing.
Lisa Qualls haunting works are writing on the skin, usually on a skin of clothing, these skirt forms were from her 2008 exhibition 'Surveillance Maritime'. The specific printed text is from Spanish and French news articles about Canary Island Boat people. Lisa's work is about the reoccurrance of issues surrounding people fleeing homelands and trying to repatriate themselves.
A bit of home this morning Beanz purring in the warm morning sun, with a larger than life shadow.
Hussein Chayalan, made a papery material dress that could be folded into letter form and attached with stickers.

I blogged some of Anne Wilson's illustrations last week. Here are some of her fantastic illustrations for children I love the rainbow nosed moon, bestowing good dreams.
Emily Martin's (the Black Apple) work focuses mainly on dolls, her graphic figures having large heads and eyes. I like her more naturalistic, painterly works, this piece 'Cold Toes Warm Heart' is lovely.
Above: Jillian Brown,
