Pets In The Post II (Mice)

Mice, mice, mice. Sally's mice are so happy they are having babies!

Pets In The Post (Birds)

Pets have been put in the post, to people who I wanted to give a pleasant surprise to (starting with Pip). I have been having fun and stretching my imagination, to try to fit the right pet to the right corespondent, these were for Alexandra. I think this is my summer project . . .

Sam Keshmiri

Sam Keshmiri is an Iranian artist. I especially love the simplicity of the top image, but the exuberance, colour and fun of Sam's work is wonderful.

Ilija Bosilj Basicevic

Why Alasdair's work has lead me on a winding path to Ilija Bosilj but it has been a great pleasure of a journey. Ilija Bosilj Basicevic (1895-1972) a fantastic self taught artist. If you have never heard of him you are in for a treat.

Ingebjorg Smith

Ingebjorg Smith originally worked as an illustrator but now uses her talents as a painter of nature. I love these red shanks, her work reminds me of Mary Newcomb and Anna Pugh in its humorous observation and style.

Paul Bloomer

Above: Flight
Above: Ganets, Below: The Lamentation of the Fish Paul Bloomer lives and works on Shetland, though he is originally from the black country. His beautiful work has a great style, rhythm and use of colour.

Painting with Snails

It was wet here today, one snail crossed my path and one was hanging on to my cherry tree, the cherry tree climber is the artist. I once did this with my students, when I happened upon a boot full of snails on the way to class. No snails are harmed, just mix a tiny bit of food colouring in some water dip your snail and let it free on a nice piece of paper. It is great fun if you have a lot of snails, and a pallet of different food colours.

Midori Harima II

I just wanted to share Midori's amazing installation too.

Anna Wili Highfield

Anna Wili Highfield makes these wonderful pieces out of torn paper folded and stitched, her portfolio has a lot of birds and some horses in this medium. Anna is based in Sydney and is the daughter of a puppeteer.
