Father Christmas Letters

Father Christmas Letters by Tolkien

I have set the children on their letters to Father Christmas, and I want to share with you a book from my childhood, which is still influencing me to this day, it is 'Letters From Father Christmas' by J.R.R.Tolkien. The illustrations are magical and wonderfully of their time. In the old editions it has a goblin alphabet which I loved to use as a child, in the newer editions this has gone, but they are beautifully produced.

Númi Thorvarsson

These pictures by Numi Thorvarsson are just wonderful. They are winter to me, they are empty and full, they have no colour and yet they have amazing colour, they are sad and yet very beautiful.

Laura Ferrara

I love Laura's soft pallet, her subject matter, simple composition and the dream like quality of her work. http://iferrara554.blogspot.com/
